Good Morning, Moses was at the end of his rope. Complaining about their lack of meat in the wilderness, the people of Israel were on the verge of mutiny. The burdens of leadership were taking their toll. Moses cried out to the Lord, “Why have you brought this trouble on your servant...Where can I get meat for all these people?...If this is how you are going to treat me, put me to death right now” (Num. 11). In Moses’ view, the situation was hopeless, even for God. Of course, it really wasn’t. God replied, “Is the LORD’S arm too short?” God promised He would provide meat and He did. The Lord caused a wind to drive huge flocks of quail in from the sea so that they covered the entire camp a day’s walk in every direction. How often do we imagine that the Lord’s arm is too short to reach into our lives with the help we need? Have you echoed Moses in saying, “My marriage is hopeless. There is nothing anyone can do, not even God. My financial needs are just too great, beyond God’s reach to help”? We may be helpless to solve workplace issues or know what to do about health concerns. But how foolish to think that they are beyond God’s grasp. Still, we worry and neglect to bring these things to the Lord because we can’t imagine what He could do to help. The distraught father of a demon-possessed son once asked Jesus, “If you can do anything, take pity on us and help us” (Mk. 9:22). Jesus answered, “Everything is possible for him who believes.” Paul told the Ephesians that God is able to do “immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” (Eph. 3:20). He proved it by doing the impossible, taking away our sin and its punishment by putting it on Jesus and having Him suffer the penalty of the cross in our place. The arm of the Lord is never too short to save. No matter what the problem, burden, or danger you’re facing today, it is not too big for God. Take it to Him. Trust Him as the Father who has loved you from eternity and who sent His Son to be your Savior from sin and death. Trust Him as the Good Shepherd who leads you to the living water of His Word. Count on Him as the Spirit who breathes new life and hope into every day. “Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear” (Is. 59:1).
